2019 has commenced with some positive news for a change. Shoalhaven Council has approved a 15 lot subdivision in East Street at Lake Wollumboola with the first 5 lots to be auctioned on 16th February 2019.
There are some locals who obviously oppose development in this area as the signage had to be replaced due to graffiti damage.
The unisex toilet at the skate park was completed in time for the impact of the holiday tourists and the park was very well attended over the holidays. However, one may wonder at the cost of the toilet building at $78,000.
The Progress Association has finally received correspondence from Shoalhaven Council regarding the replacement of the bridge in Culburra Road at the floodgates. Designs are currently being undertaken with work programmed to commence in May 2019. Culburra Road will remain open during construction.
Finally, Shoalhaven Council is currently reviewing the guidelines for the Conduct of Community Consultative Bodies (CCB Guidelines) with little time for submissions to be made. A decision from the Progress Association will be made on the proposed changes at its next meeting on 6th February 2019 at 7.00pm in the Banksia Hall at Culburra Beach. Look forward to seeing you there.
