New President Appointment

It is with regret that due to heavy business commitments that Colin Templeton has had to resign as President of the Culburra Beach Progress Association.

Under Colin’s leadership the Progress membership has grown in large numbers largely due to his enthusiasm, personality and the leadership Colin has shown he will be sadly missed but his business must come first.

At an extraordinary committee meeting held in December I was (Jack Kerr) elected as the interim president until the next Progress meeting. Which was held on Wednesdays 3rd February 2010.

Culburra Beach Markets

The March markets were an outstanding success with a record number of stalls and hundreds of people attending. I would like to thank the members of Progress who worked hard all day to make the markets such a successful day.

We Need Your Help

WE NEED MORE HELPERS if you can spend 2 or 3 hours on the day to relieve on the Progress BBQ stall or to help set up and pack up at the end of the day somewhere between 7am and 2pm please ring me on 4447-3917.

Development = Infrastructure  & Jobs

I believe that the new shopping centre developer is still talking, lets hope that all parties soon finish talking and get on with it one way or another as this proposal has been going on now for about 4 years or so.

No decision has yet been made with regards to the Culburra Urban Expansion land to the west of the town.  I still believe that between 2 or 3 thousand lots staged over about 30 years would be a huge benefit to the whole area.  The Progress  Association has long believed in this development.  With development comes infrastructure and jobs, we don’t want any of this land to be taken over by National Parks as there are more than enough in the Culburra Beach Area.

Hope you all had a Happy Christmas and wish all a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Thanks,

Jack Kerr
