WOOLWORTHS OPENS
The Woolworths Supermarket has finally opened. What a great asset for Culburra Beach and should on the whole benefit all residents and especially the elderly. Shopping local will be the go from now on. Increase shopping from locals and nearby towns residents is on the increase.
UPDATE ON WEST CULBURRA DEVELOPMENT as at 14/6/11
Development proposal for a subdivision at West Culburra Beach by Reality Realisations has been submitted to State Government . Prof John Toon on behalf of Reality Realizations had a community consultation meeting at the Community hall and outlined the process that the Part 3A has to go through. It was very informative and well presented. Many questions were asked and most residents got an answers to their concerns. Especially the 14 storey idea. It has been given the flick and the reasoning behind the decision to include it in the first place. . This development has strong support from local residents, there are a small number of people that are opposed to the development. Most residents realise that Culburra Beach needs to grow to help our future generations have security and employment in this wonderful town. Any Document regarding this Development can be found on website under Department of Planning Major Projects. Another community meeting shall happen when details of the Part 3A are complete such as the DGRs. Walkways & Cycleways are certainly a part of the plan. Maybe Hotel/Motel near the Ambulance Station. This development will take place over 10 year period. Maybe some community facilities such as Extension of the Retirement village , for our increasing aged population. More housing for the shortage in the rental area. Parks so families can enjoy having BBQ , picnics etc. Under the new NSW Liberal Government this project will remain at state government level instead of being handed back to local council.
The Community consultation has started and Prof John Toon gave a great presentation for everyone to listen and take in the information they needed. Well Done. Be at the next meeting. At this stage hopefully in April John Toon shall return with more info regarding the Master plan.
